Yuan Cheng

Profile

Prof. Yuan Cheng

Prof. Yuan Cheng received her B.Eng. degree from the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science at Fudan University, China, in July 2003, and her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore in April 2008.

Prior to joining Monash University Suzhou, she served at the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), Singapore, from 2007 to February 2021, where she held positions as Senior Scientist and Group Manager. From February to June 2009, she was also a Visiting Scholar at Brown University, USA.

Her academic contributions include editing two books and serving as Guest Editor for the International Journal of Computational Methods and Nanoscale Advances. She was elected Fellow of the International Association for Computational Mechanics.

She has published more than 100 journal papers, with over 9,600 citations and an h-index of 46.

Yuehong Lu

Profile

Yuehong Lu

Yuehong Lu is a Professor-level Senior Engineer and Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. She currently serves as a Professor-level Senior Engineer at the Jiaxing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and as President of the Yangtze River Delta Green Industry Innovation Institute of Jiaxing. Her long-term professional work has focused on circular economy development, industrial design, cleaner production auditing, energy assessment and auditing, soil and groundwater evaluation and remediation, comprehensive resource utilization, industrial park transformation assessment and ecological upgrading, low-carbon economy research, and the development of strategic emerging industries.

Her previous appointments include positions at the 36th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, the Jiaxing Circular Economy Research Institute, the Jiaxing Academician and Expert Center, and Jiaxing Science and Technology Service Co., Ltd. Since 2020, she has served as President of the Yangtze River Delta Green Industry Innovation Institute of Jiaxing.

Research and Professional Areas

Circular economy development, industrial design, cleaner production auditing, energy evaluation and auditing, soil and groundwater assessment and remediation, comprehensive resource utilization, transformation assessment and ecological upgrading of industrial parks, low-carbon economy research, industrial and environmental management under the “Internet Plus” model, and industrial structure adjustment.

Selected Achievements

Holder of one authorized Chinese invention patent: Cyanide-free Electroplating Additive and Preparation Method of Its Solution (Patent No. 200610053138.3).

She has published more than 20 academic papers, including over 10 papers as first or corresponding author in journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Resources, Conservation and Recycling, and Environmental Science and Pollution Research.

Jeyraj Selvaraj

Profile

Prof. Jeyraj Selvaraj

Prof. Jeyraj Selvaraj received his B.Eng. (Hons.) degree from Multimedia University in 2002, his M.Sc. degree in Power Electronics and Drives jointly from the University of Birmingham and the University of Nottingham in 2004, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Malaya in 2009.

He is Professor and Executive Director of the UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC), Universiti Malaya. His research has focused on solar energy for more than 15 years, including over 75 onsite inverter tests conducted under Malaysia’s FiT, LSS, and NEM schemes.

He is a member of IEEE and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and also serves on the national Photovoltaic Standards Working Group. His recognitions include multiple international fellowships, and he was named Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) in 2024.

His academic record includes around 150 ISI/Scopus-indexed publications, more than RM3 million in research funding, and inclusion among Stanford University’s world top 2% scientists from 2021 to 2023.

Yiping Tang

Profile

Yiping Tang

Yiping Tang is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor whose research has long focused on new energy materials and surface engineering. He has led four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including one Joint Fund Key Project, two General Program projects, and one Young Scientists Fund project, as well as four provincial projects and fifteen industry-sponsored collaborative projects.

He has published more than 230 academic papers in leading journals such as Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, and Advanced Energy Materials. He has an h-index of 38 and has been included in the global top 2% scientists list.

His achievements also include 37 authorized Chinese invention patents, including 24 as first inventor. He has received numerous awards, including the First Prize of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award (ranked 1st), the First Prize of the China Surface Engineering Association Science and Technology Award (ranked 1st), and the Second Prize of the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked 2nd).

He also holds a number of professional appointments, including Committee Member of the 5th Functional Materials Committee of the Chinese Society for Metals, Committee Member of the 9th Materials Committee of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the Changxing New Energy Industry Innovation Service Complex of Zhejiang Province, Expert of the China Surface Engineering Association, and Member of the Expert Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance.

Hua Bao

Profile

Hua Bao

Hua Bao is a Professor at the Puyuan School of Future Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Director of the Center for Green Energy and Future Agriculture. He is also a recipient of the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His honors include the First Prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award (ranked 2/4), the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics (ranked 1/4), the Wu Zhonghua Outstanding Young Scholar Award, the Tang Lixin Outstanding Scholar Award of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Zhuguang Award Program.

He serves as a committee member in the field of Materials Genome Engineering under the China Materials and Testing Standards Committee (CSTM). As first or corresponding author, he has published more than 100 SCI-indexed papers in high-impact journals, including Nature Sustainability, Nature Communications, Advanced Functional Materials, Physical Review B, and the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer.

He has delivered keynote and invited talks at major domestic and international academic conferences, including IMECE and IEEE-NEMS. His research portfolio includes four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as collaborative projects with industry partners such as Huawei Technologies, the Second Academy of CASIC, and Zhejiang Energy Group. He has also participated in multiple major national and provincial research programs, including Key Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program, and the Guangdong Provincial Key Research and Development Program.

His teaching covers undergraduate and graduate courses such as Heat Transfer, Solid State Physics, Advanced Heat Transfer, and Semiconductor Devices. He has received awards in English-medium teaching competitions and young faculty teaching contests, and his course Solid State Physics has been selected as a graduate-level Zhiyuan Honors Course.
